Lighthouse privacy policy
What Lighthouse does with your data, in plain words.
Effective at release
Who we are
Lighthouse is made and published by astro90, a trade name of Ktesio (KVK 42172743), Postbus 21534, 3001 AM Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Ktesio is the controller for the personal data described in this policy. Google is also a controller, separately from us, of the data its services in the game receive, and uses it under its own privacy policy (see the Google entries below). You can reach us at support@astro90.com.
What Lighthouse uses, and why
Lighthouse has no accounts and runs no servers of our own. The services below are built into the game; Apple and Google also follow their own privacy policies. Each of these companies gives the data it receives from Lighthouse the same or equal protection as this policy describes and as Apple's App Store Review Guidelines require.Google AdMob
Google User Messaging Platform
Apple In-App Purchase
Apple Game Center
iCloud
Daily reminder
Apple crash reports
Ads and tracking
Lighthouse doesn't use App Tracking Transparency, because it doesn't track you across apps or websites owned by other companies. Google AdMob may still use information about your device, your approximate location (from your IP address) and how you interact with ads, to show and measure ads and to prevent fraud.
In the EU and the UK, the game asks for your consent before ads can use your data in ways that need it. You can change your mind at any time in the game's settings.
When you email us
If you write to support@astro90.com, for example for help with Lighthouse, your message is routed by Cloudflare: inbound email through Email Routing, and our replies through its Email Service. For transfers to the United States, Cloudflare relies on its certification under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, with the EU standard contractual clauses as a fallback. The provider that hosts our mailbox stores the email delivered to it, including your message and our replies, mainly in the United States, under the EU standard contractual clauses. We use your message only to answer you, based on our legitimate interest in helping the people who play our games (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). The website privacy statement has the details.
Children
Lighthouse is rated 4+ on the App Store, because its content suits all ages, but it isn't made for children and isn't in the App Store's Kids category. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children under 13, or from children under 16 in the EU without a parent's consent. If you think a child has shared personal data with us, email us and we'll delete it.
Where data goes
Some of the companies above process data outside the EU, mainly in the United States. They protect it with the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. The provider that hosts our mailbox processes the email it stores mainly in the United States, and those transfers rest on the EU standard contractual clauses.
How long it's kept
We don't keep a copy of your game data ourselves. Your progress stays on your device and, if you use iCloud, in your iCloud, until you reset it in the game's Settings. Deleting the game removes only the copy on your device: the copy in your iCloud stays until you reset your progress or your iCloud data is deleted. Data held by the services above is kept for as long as their own policies and settings describe, and we choose the shortest settings that still let us run the game. If you email us, we delete your message within 12 months of our last message.
Your choices and rights
Settings has a reset that clears your islands, coins and streak on the device and in iCloud. You can also turn iCloud off for Lighthouse in the iOS Settings app.
Lighthouse doesn't use your device's advertising identifier for tracking: the game never asks to track you, so the identifier isn't available to Google. You can stop apps from asking to track you in the iOS Settings app, under Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Under the GDPR you can ask for a copy of your personal data, and ask us to correct or delete it, limit how it's used, or object to its use. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Email us to do any of this, and we'll reply within one month, as the GDPR requires. If you're not happy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, or the authority where you live.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll publish the new version here with a new date, and tell you in the game when the change matters.
